Some North Carolina residents were able to snag a front row seat (well, sort of) to the SpaceX Falcon 9 on Saturday night.
The launch, hundreds of miles away from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, created a spectacular view of the North Carolina night sky.
Many North Carolinians were not familiar with the planned launch, but took to social media to share videos and photos of light stretching into the darkness.
Depictions ranged from fantastical depictions of “aliens” and “comets” to more realistic depictions of “objects flying in the night.”
