Watch live coverage from day 12 of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where 21 gold medals will be up for grabs.
Bow Wow Wow, Yippee Yo, Yippee Yeay and Snoop Dogg may still feature heavily on NBC's Olympic coverage.
Questioner Athletic Two key members of NBCUniversal's leadership group responded in the affirmative this week to whether NBCUniversal plans to ask Snoop to return to on-air work at the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics and beyond.
“Snoop has done everything we could have hoped for and exceeded all of our expectations in Paris,” NBC Sports president Rick Cordella said. “He's enthusiastic and optimistic, and we'd be thrilled if Snoop returns in whatever capacity.”
Mark Lazarus, Cordella's boss, Chairman of NBCUniversal Media Group, When asked if the company would ever ask the performer to return to the Olympic family, he quickly replied, “Yes.”
Snoop Dogg is a familiar figure on NBC's Olympic coverage and at various venues in Paris. He was so much a part of the Olympics that BBC News ran a headline calling him “America's Cheerleader at the Olympics.” The 52-year-old played a small role in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics on Peacock's Games Recap alongside comedian Kevin Hart, but in Paris he became a traveling correspondent, immersing himself in athletes and all things sports, and he became a huge hit. It resonated.

““This all goes back to Tokyo 2021. Kevin Hart and Snoop Dogg are co-hosts of a comedy highlights show on Peacock called 'Olympic Highlights,' and several clips have gone viral, but what stood out to me was Snoop's passion for the Olympics and how, in his own unique way, he honors the athletes and their stories,” said Molly Solomon, executive producer and president of NBC Olympic Production and a key figure in driving Snoop's on-air visibility.
“Over the last year and a half, Snoop and I have really thought about what this role could be.I call him an ambassador of happiness. His content makes everyone want to meet Snoop, take a selfie with Snoop, and be around Snoop. We are pleasantly surprised by his popularity, but you should never underestimate Snoop Dogg. He is a great mix of confidence and positivity, with a lot of charisma and a very positive vibe. His curiosity about the Olympics is undeniable.”
Snoop told The Associated Press this week. “To me, this opportunity is really just a chance to show the world what can happen when you put the right people in the right environment.”

The performers are part of what has been a hugely successful Olympics for NBCUniversal, which said it averaged 32.6 million viewers across the first 11 days of the Olympics in prime time in Paris (2-5 p.m. ET) and U.S. prime time (8-11 p.m. ET/PST).
“Success here is measured by whether you have a compelling product that draws large audiences, and that's clearly happened with the Olympics,” Lazarus said. “The last few Olympics have not been on the scale that we expected. These Olympics have exceeded all of our expectations.”
