Speakers at the Republican National Convention spoke more than 110,000 words over four raucous days.
The speaker selection and choice of words reflected both sharp campaign speeches and the rewritten 2024 Republican platform.
Excluding common and everyday words, the most frequently spoken words are:
Economic terms
Concerns about the economy were a recurring theme at the convention, with speakers highlighting “skyrocketing” or “shocking” prices for gas and groceries, and Sen. Rick Scott of Florida predicting gas could reach $10 a gallon if President Biden is re-elected.

Immigration vocabulary
Speakers said “millions of illegal immigrants” are crossing the southern border, and promoted the idea that immigrant crime will skyrocket, using terms like “murderers and rapists” and “criminals and terrorists.”

Donald J. Trump spoke 12,219 words in 92 minutes, the longest acceptance speech measured by the American Presidency Project since at least 1956.
The only other Republican acceptance speech with a comparable word count was that of William Howard Taft in 1908. That speech was 12,055 words long and reflected the Republican platform of a century ago, with repeated references to “prosperity of business,” “antitrust law” and “interstate railroads.”

Republican policy positions have been unpopular with voters on some controversial issues, particularly restrictions on abortion and attacks on the Affordable Care Act, and speakers avoided touching on those points.
words “abortion” did not appear among the 110,000 transcribed words,The born and the unborn” appears twice, “Pro-Life” and “Pro-Choice” appeared once each.
