Democrats release wish list for Harris
We asked attendees at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, “If Kamala Harris wins, what would be the first thing you want her to do as president?”
-
First day in office. First day in office. First day in office. On her first day in office, I want President Harris to protect the right to safe and legal abortion. I want her to guarantee a woman's right to choose and have bodily autonomy. I want her to restore women's rights. I want Roe v. Wade to be reinstated. First day in office. Let's get it done. On her first day in office, she can expand the child care tax credit for working families. For all families. I want her to address access to health care in general, and particularly in territories like ours. I am a cancer survivor. I want marijuana to be legalized at the federal level. I want young people to be brought directly into the White House, perhaps by creating an Office of Young Americans. I want a Universal Crown Act that allows African-American men and women to keep their natural hairstyles. Price gouging. They are raising the prices of goods. They are making it difficult for ordinary Americans to go about their daily lives. I would really like to see President Harris basically put the country back together. We are all tired of living in a divided America. We are all Americans. And we need to start acting like Americans again. And she needs to lead us in that direction.
