Seven months before taking office, President Trump declared nine national emergency, as well as a “crime emergency” in Washington. These emergency declarations have been used to justify hundreds of actions, including immigration measures, sweep tariffs, and energy deregulation, which usually require Congressional approval or long regulatory review, according to a New York Times analysis of presidential documents.
