Isabel Mark joins us live from Greenville, Erin and Destiny. Right now, police have not released any information about this fatality, but we do know that the body was found at the District West Apartments near Reedy View Drive. So, take a look at the scene from last night. There is a large police presence outside this luxury apartment complex, and forensics are being conducted. Right now, the coroner says it's unclear what caused the death or if it was suspicious. We're told more details will be available later today after conducting several tests. We'll be bringing you the latest updates on this breaking story live from Greenville. I'm Isabel Marek, WYFF News 4. Thank you, Isabel. In Cherokee County, the coroner's office announced that a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle on Tuesday night. According to authorities, the incident occurred just before 11:30 a.m. on North Logan Street. A woman lying near the center line was reportedly hit by a pickup truck. The coroner said minutes earlier, the woman had jumped onto the hood of another vehicle that had stopped for standing in the road. Video from a nearby store confirmed the woman had slipped off the hood of the car and fallen onto the road before being hit by the truck. 21-year-old Carson Wofford was reported dead at the scene, and the coroner said an autopsy would be performed later this week. Former President Donald Trump returned to campaigning in his native Florida, drawing thousands of supporters at a golf course in Doral, Florida. Former President Trump was happy to take advantage of Democrats calling on President Biden to drop out of the race, challenging Biden to another debate. He played a game of golf and attacked Vice President Kamala Harris. Tensions are also building ahead of next week's Republican National Convention over who Trump will choose as his running mate. The presidential election is all about Meredith, but at this point, there is a view that President Biden is very old and perhaps not fit for the job. So if Donald Trump could field a younger running mate, someone like Vance, who I think is 39, or someone like Marco Rubio, who is as young as Tim Scott, that would help Trump fill out the base of the electoral college in a race where he is quite old. And his running mate would be a young, dynamic individual. And I think that would help counter this narrative that came out of the aftermath of the debate with President Biden. A political science expert in upstate New York says the aftermath of last month's presidential debate could change who former President Biden ultimately chooses as his running mate. There are multiple candidates in the running and they're in the vetting process. The former president could make a decision anytime between now and the Republican National Convention, which starts on Monday. An upstate New York newspaper that has been in circulation for more than a century will close at the end of this month. The Greer Citizen was founded in 1918, but according to an issue published last week, the paper is no longer in circulation and will close soon. The paper's owner, Phil Buchheit, says it can't continue any longer due to a lack of advertising. He says advertising is moving from print to online sites and social media. This trend is affecting small newspapers across the country. There are no ads. When I say revenue advertising, it's all paid subscription revenue, but that's not real revenue. You can't pay salaries with that revenue. The owners say the system's closure means staff will be out of work and marks the end of three generations of newspaper ownership in the Carolinas. Greer Mayor Rick Danner said the newspaper's closure was unexpected, but it's a sign of the times. The paper's final issue will start July 19 and end July 31. People in Greenville will have to dial 10 numbers instead of seven because Upstate is adding 1 to its list of area codes instead of 8. Right now, your current phone number and area code will remain the same. But if you get a new number after Aug. 19, your provider may assign you a new 821 area code. Tech experts are encouraging people to update their contacts to include the area code in preparation for all of this. Also, update your alarm systems and other automated dialing systems to include the area code. Starting at 6:49 this morning, Duke Energy and Oconee County officials will be testing sirens around the Oconee Nuclear Power Plant. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the tests will last from 5 to 30 seconds. No public action is said to be required. Duke Energy says there are 65 sirens within 10 miles of the Oconee Nuclear Power Plant. The tests are to make sure the sirens are working properly, and some sirens may need to be tested multiple times. Well, good morning everyone. Let's take a live look at Lake 649 Hartwell. Let's talk about beautiful love, love, love. Look at this camera in the sky in the background. It's really amazing. Hey, how's Asheville? Look at that beautiful place. You can see the mountains. This low pressure is moving away from us, but it has a very weak cold front attached to it. This cold front will move through our area and change the wind direction. South winds are muggy and sweltering, but north winds are dry and a little less humid. Temperatures will rise to the mid 90s Fahrenheit today. It will be a hot and humid day, but the humidity will drop a little in the afternoon in the mountains. Humidity will drop a little to the mid 80s Fahrenheit later tonight in the north, and it will definitely drop tomorrow. We will know exactly how long this will last when we look at the temperatures over the next four days. We will have an update on that soon. Get outside and check the roads. What are they like? Around here. Well, things are looking good for anyone heading to downtown Greenville right now. I-35 South at Stone Avenue in Greenville County provides smooth access in and out of the city. Travel times are good, with I-240 to Asheville being a 12-minute freeway ride, and the airport to Woodruff Road being 6 minutes 35 seconds. From Simpsonville, it's a 13-minute drive north to Greenville. So a jury duty scam that has been making the rounds upstate has now hit Greenville County. Sheriff's deputies say someone is calling people in the county and saying they have a warrant out for their arrest for missing jury duty, or that they owe money to avoid being arrested. The deputies say the sheriff's office will never call them for these reasons, and they remind people to never give out personal or financial information. Well, the Greenville Zoo received positive initial accreditation results from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and the AZA team visited in late June and was impressed with the animal care staff and their efforts to repopulate endangered species. Fewer than 10% of the 2,800 accredited zoos in the United States are accredited. The Greenville Zoo has been designated for more than 40 years. This is definitely something Aaron and I talk about all the time, because it's spicy ketchup. Spicy ketchup. Well, with just three weeks to go until the Olympics, the road to Paris has begun. Craig Melvin today visited the US Men's Basketball Team at their training camp in Las Vegas over the weekend. The team is looking to continue its dominance and bring another gold medal to Team USA. Craig chatted with the entire team, including superstar LeBron James, and in the conversation, LeBron and Craig talked about his accomplishments on and off the court. You can't talk about accomplishments without talking about the player the Lakers just drafted in the second round. That will definitely be part of LeBron's accomplishments. Playing with my son. How cool would that be next season? Well, when it comes to basketball, doing it all as an individual would probably be the greatest accomplishment. But there's no bigger accomplishment than being on the floor with my son. This is the best thing that's ever happened to me. Wow. Be sure to tune in tomorrow morning to Craig's conversation with LeBron James, including his lasting impact on G.
