Annette is originally a Midwestern woman, born and raised in Michigan, but has had career stops in many surrounding states, the Pacific Northwest, and various parts of the Southeast. Annette, who is an award-winning journalist and mother of four, moved to eastern North Carolina in 2019 to be closer to her family, especially her two young grandchildren. The fact that Minnesota had a -27 day wind chill of -68 degrees may have played a role in this decision. In her free time, Annette enjoys cuddling her kids, reading books, and creating the coolest Halloween costumes you've ever seen. She has also worked as a diversity and inclusion facilitator in school districts and large corporations. It's the people who make this beautiful region so special, and she wants to share stories that touch the hearts of others. If you have a story idea you would like to share, please email westona@cravencc.edu.
