Dry conditions for most of North Carolina, warmer conditions on Sunday in Winston-Salem, Greensboro
Sunday will be warm, humid and partly sunny
Project. Michelle, it was definitely a really nice weekend to get out and enjoy Zumba and outdoor activities. It was a really great weekend. But a lot of people are indoors watching the Olympics, right? I'll give you the weather forecast for Paris. True Light Paris weather forecast says temperatures are actually rising and drying. Dry. It was a great weekend. Right now, it's going to be in the low 80s tomorrow afternoon in Paris. It's going to clear up a little bit in the afternoon. But it's going to be really nice and maybe a shower or two. It's sunny right now. By the way, Paris is six hours away and it's 63 degrees. It's going to be a pretty comfortable night for Paris. It's going to take a little while longer for it to cool down. And we can see some clouds and rain forming over the mountains. That's all for today. Other than that, it's a great forecast. 82 degrees in Greensboro, 84 degrees in Winston-Salem. Galax is at 79, Sparta at 78, North Wilkesboro at 81. Temperatures are comfortable for this time of year. Should be in the upper 80s, but clouds are rolling in this morning and the system is starting to work, so it's finally a little more comfortable. There is wind, but it's not helping much. Wherever the wind blows, the humidity is still there, so it just feels a little better. Dew points are in the low 70s to mid 60s. That's what we call a muggy feeling. If it wasn't muggy, it would warm up tomorrow. We'll only have scattered showers tonight. We can still expect a few storms tomorrow afternoon, mainly in the western mountains, maybe in the western foothills. I expect most of the Piedmont to be dry tomorrow as we get closer to dinner time. Now, do you think by Monday we'll have a day with a risk of heavy rain? Late tonight? Temperatures in the 70s between 9 and 10. By early tomorrow morning temperatures will drop to the 60s. There may be some fog here and there, but if you work in the sunshine today, the soil conditions will at least be dry and won't affect your work. Temperatures tomorrow will be in the 80s again, and in the upper 80s in the afternoon. Temperatures may get closer to 90 in parts of the Eastern Triad, but overall it will feel like it's in the 90s because of the high humidity, localized showers, and maybe a rain shower or two between 9 and 10 in the mountains and western foothills. Then, overnight and into Monday, the rain will be a little more active. We've talked about the possibility of wildfire smoke reaching our area late tonight and into early tomorrow morning. Right now we're in the yellow code for particulate pollution. Some of the pollution from the wildfire smoke will also be coming in from other areas and coming in from the north as the ridge forms and it could create a little bit of haze in our area. It's not just the haze, it's going to create some health issues. People with asthma, people in sensitive groups, really need to pay attention to the air quality tomorrow. We'll have a high of 65 degrees, but we'll have a sunny start to the day. Clouds will increase later. Here we go. Highs will be 87 degrees, with a feel of the low 90s. 65 degrees in the foothills, rising to 86. It's a humid day. There's also a chance of some storms. As I mentioned before. Mainly closer to 4 or 5 o'clock, we'll have a high of 78 in the mountains. The chances of rain will spike. We talked about Monday. It's an impact day for us. We'll talk about the risk of showers and storms. There's also a risk of excessive downpours with flooding, and localized flooding is a concern more. We can see what's spreading now. The Level 2 mild risk area is now extending farther east, including Yadkinville and parts of the east side. After Monday's rain, temperatures will warm over the next few days. And the rain could start earlier. Scattered rain showers will be expected in the Piedmont Triangle and mountain commuter belts starting mid-morning.
