CARY, N.C. (WTVD) — Lenovo and North Carolina College teamed up on Tuesday to host the third annual “Starting STEM” Field Day.
More than 100 kids from six Boys & Girls Clubs across the Triangle spent a morning of STEM interaction with a difference on the playing fields at WakeMed Soccer Park.
The youngsters tested their speed, footwork and shooting skills before learning about a technology-enabled, indoor football-based game.
“I think this is great because I love the Boys & Girls Club and I love going on adventures,” said one of the girls who participated. “I get to learn new things.”
The goal is to spark an interest in science, engineering, technology and math (STEM) among elementary school students.
