CARY, N.C. (WTVD) — North Carolina hospitals are celebrating breast milk donors and calling for more to donate.
WakeMed Mothers' Milk Bank is seeking donors to provide this potentially life-saving gift to premature babies. The hospital says breast milk contains life-saving antibodies that protect premature and full-term babies from illness and disease.
An event will be held for donors to participate on Sunday, May 19th, which is also World Breast Milk Donation Day.
