COLORA, N.C. (WNCN) — A lightning-caused fire caused extensive damage at a beach house on North Carolina's Outer Banks Monday morning, according to authorities.
According to reports, the fire broke out around 6:45 a.m. at a three-story home in the 900 block of Colora Drive in the Whalehead section of Currituck County.
When members of Corolla Fire and Rescue arrived at the rental home, they could see flames coming from the roof.
Ten people renting the home were inside at the time of the fire, OBX News' Sam Walker reported.

Nine people quickly escaped the home, but one man was trapped inside for a while but quickly escaped, Walker said.
It took multiple firefighters more than 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
The fire was not put out for about an hour, Walker said.
Corolla Fire and Rescue said people vacationing at the home were relocated to another home.
In addition to the Corolla Fire Department, Duck Fire Department, Kitty Hawk Fire Department and Southern Shores Fire Department also assisted, according to officials.
No one was injured.
