Multiple law enforcement officers were shot and killed Monday in Charlotte, North Carolina, when a member of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force came under fire while attempting to execute a warrant, police said.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said on social media that authorities cordoned off the Shannon Park area east of downtown Monday afternoon to make it easier to transport the victim to the hospital.
Just before 5 p.m., police said a “shooting suspect” was found dead inside a home in the 5000 block of Galway Drive and the neighborhood was declared safe, although some roads remained closed. Announced.
