Since then, caravans have been formed every year, but over time they have increased in frequency and decreased in size to avoid attracting too much attention.
The nationalities of the people in the caravan also changed. In 2018, most people were from Central America. More recently, Venezuelans have come to constitute the largest single group, reflecting changing immigration patterns. Some come from other South American countries. One woman in a recent caravan brought a Bible from Peru.
