Artificial intelligence software has greatly improved editing tools, far beyond spell checkers and old grammar aids.
AI can proofread, rewrite, summarize and create text, making it easy to create clean, complex documents on your smartphone. If you haven't dabbled in yet, free products from Apple and Google are the easy places to start experimenting.
You can tinker with the software and check its functionality and when do not have – Let AI write. This is the guide to getting started.
Using Apple Intelligence
Apple's integrated suite of AI tools, known as Apple Intelligence, includes a choice of writing tools. (Requires iOS 18.1 and a recent iPhone or iPad.)
The writing tool works with most apps that type or tell words. Once you've written something (like the page), highlight the section you want to edit. In the pop-up menu[書き込みツール]or tap the circular Apple Intelligence icon on the toolbar.
[書き込みツール]In the menu, select the options to use, such as proofreading, rewriting, or summarizing, or show you how to change the text. You can also view it as a keypoint, list, or table, or tap to recast the lighting tone to make it more friendly, more professional, or streamlined. If you don't like the changes, go back to the original.
With the help of the popular ChatGpt chatbot, Apple Intelligence must first enable ChatGPT, but it can create drafts from scratch. To do this, tap the Compose button and follow the direction on the screen. (The New York Times sued ChatGpt Maker Openai and its partner Microsoft, which alleges infringement of news content related to AI systems. Both companies denied the allegations in the lawsuit.)
Like any AI chatbot, Gemini responds to questions and prompts. For example, you can paste it into a draft note and ask Gemini to proofread and fact-check.
Gemini can also generate text on request, like a project suggestion. For example, in the prompt box, you will be asked, “Draft a proposal to the city council and draft a proposal to get permission for the Summer Dog Festival on August 2nd and 3rd.
Once Gemini has drafted your proposal, you can save it as a Google Doc for your own editing and improvements.
Use other options
Apple Intelligence charges a subscription fee if your device is too old or you don't use Google products, but you still need to consider many AI helpers. Grammarly has been around since 2009 and now has a mobile app that runs on the device's keyboard software for calibration, tone adjustment and other AI aids. Microsoft has a Copilot AI tool that runs on the Microsoft 365 suite.
The app store has many AI bots, such as writing-specific assistants such as Paragraphy for various communication styles (including help from dyslexic writers), and sudowrite for narrative projects. Common chatbots such as ChatGpt (with writing assistants) and Claude of Mankind can rewrite and generate text.
Please be aware
Remember that AI is not perfect. Check your bot's work as you may make mistakes.
Additionally, AI support has many advantages to more impersonal documents such as memos and suggestions, but relying too much on them can lead to a faint voice and style.
It shoots the first sentence of Arthur Conan Doyle's 1891 short story, “The Bohemia Scandal.”
original: She's always on Sherlock Holmes woman. I rarely hear him mention her by any other name. In his eyes, she screams and controls her whole sex. It wasn't that he felt any feelings similar to his love for Irene Adler.
Apple Intelligence: Sherlock Holmes always called her a woman. He rarely used other names on her. In his mind, she was the most prominent woman of all women. Not because he felt romantic feelings for Irene Adler.
Gemini: For Sherlock, she is always a “female.” I rarely hear him call her anything else. The way he sees it, she shines perfectly more than all the other women. It's not that he's in love with Eileen Adler or anything like that.
You need to always direct your own words. This may help people not think, “Hey, did you write this?”
