Hamas has indefinitely postponed the release of Israeli hostages scheduled for release from the Gaza Strip this weekend, a spokesman accused Israeli government of violating an already vulnerable ceasefire agreement on Monday.
In a statement on Telegram, Hamas military division spokesman Abu Obeida accused Israel of breaching many of the ceasefire agreements.
The move threatens to derail the ceasefire contract reached last month. Wide anger over the conditions, some of the hostages ever released – malnutrition, mitigated by hostile crowds, paraded in front of the camera, and sometimes made to read statements under obsession – elicits accusations in Israel that Hamas had not comply with the suspension – a fire contract.
A spokesman for Israel Katz, Israeli Minister of Defense, called Hamas' announcement “a complete violation of the ceasefire agreement and hostage release agreement.”
He said he instructed Israeli forces to “prepare the best alerts for every possible scenario in Gaza.” Referring to Hamas-led 2023 attacks on Israel, which launched the war, he added, “We will not allow the reality of October 7th to return.”
The first six-week phase of the ceasefire contract, which is scheduled to continue until March 2, will bring the release of 25 living hostages and eight murdered bodies in exchange for the release of 1,500 Palestinians from Israel. I asked for the prison. Approximately half of the exchange was made.
This is a developing story. Please check for updates.
