NORFOLK, Va. — A frost advisory was issued for parts of Hampton Roads and northeastern North Carolina early Tuesday morning as temperatures are expected to drop into the 30s inland.
The advisory is in effect from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. Tuesday and includes Suffolk, Chesapeake, Isle of Wight, James City, Westmoreland and Richmond counties. Also includes Gates and Bertie counties in North Carolina.
The National Weather Service advises that if left uncovered, frost can kill sensitive outdoor plants, and a light freeze is possible in rural, low-lying areas.
