HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. (WNCN) – Police in Wake County, North Carolina, sent a drone and preschool team to assist in the search for a “missing and endangered teen” this weekend, the town of Holly Springs said. Officials made the announcement Sunday.
Kalea Ava Melton, 18, disappeared from Holly Springs on Saturday, according to an alert from the Town of Holly Springs.
Holly Springs spokeswoman Kelly Miller said in a news release Sunday that police searched the area around her home Saturday using a drone, a police K-9 team and officers on foot.
“Officers again searched the area today utilizing officers on foot and the Police Bloodhound team,” Mr Miller said of Sunday's efforts.
Melton's home is in the Twelve Oaks neighborhood off New Hill Road, family members told CBS 17 Sunday.

Melton was last seen wearing a white and pink cartoon sweatshirt, multicolored Vans shoes and carrying a Star Wars backpack. She was also seen carrying a Vans shopping bag containing her pillow, according to a news release.
Authorities urged residents to be on alert for Melton, who is 5 feet tall and weighs about 77 pounds.
