Every day, Delta operates an average of 260 flights at Laguardia, an airport known for its tough turnaround times with around 25,000 customers and around 8,000 bags. The airline relies on a team of roughly 1,000 Lamp agents, said Adam Ryan, the airline's vice president of airport operations.
The handling process is intended to be quick. Throughout the Delta operations, Ryan said it would ideally take about 20 minutes for bag drops to be loaded.
By 12:46pm, two passengers and five check bags were still missing. Five minutes later, all 60 check bags were loaded and the airplane, Airbus A321, left the gate.
